along with our portable mini skate park.
Have Ramps Will Travel
Imagine a complete skate park coming to a location near you. That’s the ground-breaking new concept behind AntiGravity Skate, a Connecticut-based non-profit traveling skate park complete with safe and sturdy steel half pipes, ramps, obstacles and rails. A major hit with kids and parents alike, this group is the newest member of the AntiGravity X family, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advocating an alcohol, tobacco and drug-free lifestyle.
Town-to-town, volunteers tour New England in a massive diesel truck packed with a portable skateboard and BMX street course equipment along with the world’s largest truck-mounted, steel half pipe. Volunteers unload and mount fixtures in minutes, organizing and hosting popular sporting events free of charge to anyone in the local community.
More than 90 skaters participated in AntiGravity’s Go Skateboarding Day held at Valley Shore Assembly of God parking lot in Old Saybrook, Connecticut on June 21, 2008. Launched at 10 AM, skaters enjoyed hours of riding, grinding and extreme adventure under the hot summer sun.
During Go Skateboarding Day, AntiGravity also introduced brand new street skate obstacles including a picnic table and 12-foot bench along with a massive eight-foot wide portable wall ride.
Select raffle participants were awarded a Darkstar complete board from Vertigo Skate Park, a Christian Hosoi complete board and a Dakine backpack from Zumiez. Free samples of Vitamin Water were handed out by the Vitamin Water street team. Board repairs and sales were also provided on-site by Zumiez.
Each AntiGravity event provides a healthy athletic outlet for teens within a safe, chaperoned environment. Visit www.antigravityskate.com to get detailed tour information, view the extensive event photo galleries or see when the truck is scheduled to stop by your town.
